Frandsen and can be used legally only by her company
and companies that are licensed to manufacture her
products. Other than product photos, using Karen's

of United States Copyright Law.

A. No. The company
you saw illegally copied and produced a knock-off
using Karen's Kids images. We appreciate our customers
who help to monitor illegal use of 'the kids'.

Is there actually a Karen who draws the kids?
A. Yes, Karen lives
in San Diego. She created 'the kids' as well as picture
books and products containing the kids including posters,
games, cards, dolls and interactive CDs. Find our

Our school/church/group/center/office wants to make
a mural using Karen's Kids® images/drawings. Is
that ok?
A. The clip art images
are great for enlarging and creating colorful murals
and/or bulletin boards using butcher paper, or other
sturdy material within the classroom and/or for personal
use. The use of images for commercial purposes, advertising,
billboards and/or commercial signs require a Licensing
Agreement.

Can I use Karen's Kids® images on all of my classroom
activity sheets and/or school flyers and communications?
A. Yes. The purpose
of the clip art images is to support you in creating
documents for personal/or classroom use and on most
other items that are not for commercial use and not
for sale, nor for website use. For a wide variety
of great ideas on how to use clip art, check out the
many Karen's Kids® publications.

May I make a pillow/T-shirt/blanket/plate, etc. for
my child, grandchild, child's teacher, etc. using
Karen's Kids characters?
A. Yes. For all you
creative customers out there who design and make your
own gifts and projects, making items for personal
use and/or for gifts for nonprofit and noncommercial
and not-for-sale use is fine.

May I use Karen's Kids® images to illustrate my
book?
A. Once your manuscript
has been accepted, and if you and your publisher feels
that Karen's images would complement your story or
theme, please contact Karen at Karen's Kids licensing
(address below). We LOVE new projects. Please do not
send manuscripts directly to Karen or Karen's Kids.
Karen's Kids images may not be used on or in, copies
of manuscripts nor on documents that are going to
be submitted to publishers.

I would like to use one of the images/characters,
drawings as my logo. Is that ok?
A. Unfortunately, no.
The images must be licensed to be used as a logo.
However, the purchaser of Karen's Kids® clip art
may use clip art images on envelopes, flyers, and
other documents and communications for classroom use
or personal use and/or use on documents created for
school, group activities, etc. Images may not be used
for commercial projects or advertisements, nor on
commercial documents or on items for sale.

May we use images from posters/cards/products for
a sign, stationery, event, etc?
A. Unfortunately, no.
Karen's Kids® Clip Art is the only product that
can be duplicated for school and/or personal use and/or
use on documents created for school, group activities,
etc. and only for nonprofit, noncommercial use unless
it is licensed. Images from products like posters
or cards may NOT be duplicated.
