Worksheets FINISH the STORIES K-1 (Karen's Kids Printables)

Who is the story about? What is the story about? Where does it take place. When? Why? Picture and word prompts encourage young writers to build a simple sentence using a simple subject and verbs. Their brief compositions will describe people, places and things, events, and experiences. Every child will create a unique page based on their likes, skills, and experiences.

40 pages . 3 pages per theme

A FINISH THE STORY page includes words and fun graphics that prompt kids to complete the sentences in order to finish the story. This is followed by a FINISH THE PICTURE page with picture prompts and space for children to add to the picture. A MORE-TO-MY-STORY page is provided for students who might have more to add to their story. Challenging vocabulary is included with fun picture prompts make it easy for students to decode words.

K and Grade 1

Children are able to respond according to their individual interests, skill and ability levels. Sharing stories motivates kids to write. Funny stories and creative drawings make sharing time a highlight of this project.

COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS FOR WRITING

Included are first grade writing standards that represent benchmarks in writing proficiency for most states.

While interacting with students we are rarely aware of the full spectrum of cross-disciplinary standards students are participating in within a lesson or unit of study. If students share a written activity orally and ask, and answer questions, recount events and even record the event, they are participating in multiple English Language Arts Standards.
